Wine Fest 2009

Wine, Wine, Wine! Red or White. Sweet or Dry. Sparkling. Dessert. Chardonnay or Cabernet.
Now, you can find out which you prefer at the up coming Wine Fest!

The North East Wine Festival will be taking place this weekend, September 25-27 at Gibson Park and Gravel Pit Park. You'll be sure to have a good time with all the fun activites planned for this event.

This year will feature 7 wineries in the Wine Tent, serving over 40 varieties of wines. There will be music to dance to, grapes to be stomped and wine to be drunk.

All in all, a good time! Entry is $6 at the gate or you can buy tickets for $4 at any Erie General Electric FCU branch. They will also have an ATM setup if you need some extra cash while you're there!

There will also be free shuttles to pick you up and take you around to the different Wineries. So, your designated driver is taken care of!
Come enjoy this event with thousands of other attendees, and maybe even find your inner Wine-o!

Also known as the "Last Blast of Summer," the 2009 Erie Heritage Festival will take place at Liberty Park on Saturday, September 12th. You can bring down your blanket, chair or other lounging device to help you relax and enjoy the beautiful day on the bay!
While your chillin by the bay, you'll be enjoying musical performances by One World Tribe, Tennessee Backporch and the Zem Zem Drum and Bugle Corps. The festival will conclude with a concert by the Erie Philharmonic, fireworks, canon fire, and church bells.
Want to know what else is great about this event? It's kid-friendly and FREE! You can make donations to the Erie County Historical Society to help support this event while you're there too!

Family First Sports Park

Family First Sports Park (FFSP) has indoor sporting leagues throughout the year. I like participating in sports to keep me busy and active in my "weight gaining" holiday months. You don't have to be a superstar to play, you just need to WANT to play! Now, gather some friends and head to upper peach street to the parks facility to sign up.
Check out their leagues at www.familyfirstsportspark.com to learn more about their different sporting leagues. Maybe we'll see each other there!
