Erie Sunsets

Can you believe Erie weather! One week it is 35 and snowing... 2 days later we have 55 and sun. Today was a great chance to enjoy the beach and sunset at Presque Isle. The 70 degree weather and clear skies are a perfect setting for any Erieite!
There are definitely a few more Erie Sunsets to be had at Presque Isle, so I encourage you to take advantage of this weather while you can.
While you are there, setup for a romantic evening, go find some beach glass or take the pooch out for a swim!
Whatever you do, enjoy this GEM of Erie!

Trec or Treat

What a great opportunity to check out the Tom Ridge Environmental Center (TREC)! The TREC will be holding a "TREC or Treat" event on Saturday, October 25th from 11AM- 4PM. This building is amazing and interesting! You must take a trip up the tower to see the incredible view from the top!
The TREC or Treat event is perfect for a family to go out and enjoy! You can wear your costumes and be entered into their contest to win prizes, which takes place at 2pm.

From 11-1 you can learn more information about those creatures that creep during the night and whether they are "spooky" or not.

If that's not enough to get you out, they are playing two movies for the family to enjoy. At 12pm Spookley (Rated G) will be playing and at 3pm The Last Mimzy (Rated PG) will play. But you must be early because while admission is FREE, it will be limited to the first 175 tickets per show.

If you want more information on this event, you can check out the TREC website at http://www.trecpi.org/events.html.

Peek n' Peak Fall Fest

YES! I love this time of year. The weather is perfect temperature- not too hot, not too cold. With the leaves changing to my favorite shades of orange, yellow and reds- that means FALL FEST!
This trip takes you outside the PA state lines and into New York. Peek n' Peak has its 21st Annual Fall Fest October 11-12 and 18-19. The festivities take place from 10am - 5pm. You'll find all kinds of things to enjoy at any age.
Peek n' Peak's Fall Fest is a chance to pick up some slightly used ski equipment at their gigantic Ski Swap. You'll find ski's, snowboards, hats, gloves, jackets, poles, boots... everything at reasonable prices!
There are an incredible amount of vendors for you to visit and pick up some crafts for your home for the holidays. If crafts aren't your thing there is a petting zoo, frisbee catching dogs, car show, and much more.
So here is another great idea to do with your friends, family, or by yourself! And best part about it all... admission to go and walk around is FREE!!

Station Dinner Theater

This is a place that everyone can enjoy. The Station Dinner Theater has shows for children and adults. They offer a lot of themed shows and right now you will find Halloween type shows. They often offer a murder mystery type dinner throughout the year as well.
The Station Dinner Theater located at 4940 Peach street in Erie, PA and the building looks like an old train station.
You can buy tickets for about $34 per adult that include the show, full three-course meal, coffee, tea and sales tax. Alcoholic beverages are extra. Children tickets run $23 including the same items.
The shows can be very entertaining and I guarantee you will have a great night out! It's even better when you have a group to enjoy the show.
You don't have to attend a show to enjoy the station, but it's what I would recommend. You can go and enjoy dinner, an open mic night or even Happy Hour!
For more information about the Station Dinner Theater visit www.canterburyfeast.com.

GREAT ERIE DEALS!

This will be one of the easiest activities I recommend doing while in Erie. Although the activity itself doesn’t require you to leave your home, the action you take will more likely require the obligation to get moving out of your home.
I am talking about visiting the website http://www.halfofferie.com/. It’s just what it says… you will pay half off the regular price for the item you purchase. You will find some great deals to go out with your family and friends. Deals include certificates for places to eat, get massages, gym memberships and more!
This website can lead you, your family and friends to a fun night out at the many different places and activities Erie has to offer.
Go NOW before you miss out on a deal!

Asbury Park

One of my favorite places to get away! Asbury Park is located southwest of the road to the Airport. It is located south of 38th street. You can find a couple places to park your car and I recommend parking at the park with the fields and pavilion. Across the street is an education center where you can learn more as well!
Asbury Park is a short little trail that leads you into the woods in Millcreek Township. You'll find a well groomed trail. It's great for trail runners or your casual walk. I know my dog Keegan loves this trail.
About a mile or so in, you will come to a creek and bridge. You can cross the bridge and head up towards Brown's Farm. You can make this trip up to 5 + miles depending on the different routes you take while you're there.
Asbury is pretty peaceful and can be great for a brief get away. Keegan spends a lot of summer days in the water chasing the stick we throw.... about 50 times!
It can be quite the romantic walk too. It's wear I accepted my husbands proposal!
Along the walk, you will come to an amazing tree. Maybe I should say trees. (pictured) It's one huge stump with large branches going in every direction. Very cool site to see.
So, need something to do on a weekend and want to get away, without getting away? Asbury is a great place to visit. This time of year will be beautiful with the leaves changing soon!
Enjoy!
